About Garnet Hill

The Garnet Hill Property Owners Association community is a warm, friendly community of families with young children, retirees, couples, and single homeowners. The common denominator is a love of the forests, waters, mountains, and trails of the Adirondacks. GHPOA is a 635 acre private community consisting of approximately 100 property owners. It is located within the Adirondack State Park in the Hamlet of North River, New York, less than 25 minutes from the Gore Mountain Ski Center. It offers a private waterfront on spring-fed Thirteenth Lake adjacent to the Siamese Ponds Wilderness Area. The GHPOA community boasts exceptional year-round recreational activities including hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, mountain biking, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming and tennis – all within reach of our doorsteps.

The Garnet Hill Lodge, rated one of the top 10 cross-country ski centers in the country, is a member of the Garnet Hill Property Owners Association.

The stillness of the woods and wilderness, as well as the pristine nature of the waters, is loved by the Garnet Hill community. Within these shared lands, we follow a carry-in, carry-out policy for the proper disposal of litter. We permit no ATVs, snowmobiles, or motorbikes on our lands. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has adopted an electric-trolling-motors-only policy for use on Thirteenth Lake.
